The newly appointed National Coordinator of the Nigerian Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative (NWAPDI), Svensson, has vowed to strengthen support for women and youth agripreneurs across Nigeria.
At the handover ceremony in Abuja, Svensson described agriculture as Africa’s next “oil well” and a key driver for economic growth. She emphasized that empowering grassroots women and youth in agriculture will not only ensure food security but also boost small-scale agribusinesses nationwide.
She promised to channel agricultural resources directly to those who need them most—local farmers—saying her appointment reflects the government’s intention to promote real inclusion and sustainability in the sector.
