Some of the problems influencing cotton production and other agricultural activity in Zamfara include insecurity and an erratic power supply.
As a result, the rate of poverty among residents of farming communities has increased.
Reviving cotton production will boost exports, strengthen and stimulate the economy of the country, create jobs, and allow for the reopening of cotton-related businesses.
Experts concur that this should be done, but doing so will be difficult.
Zamfara is regarded as one of the states with the greatest concentration of cotton producers, gins, textile factories, and cotton-growing soil.
Because of this, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, or NEPC, has chosen it to oversee the National Council for Commerce’s implementation of its one state, one product initiative.
