NEIP to train 120,000 youth nationwide for job creation

The National Entrepreneurship Innovation Program (NEIP) has launched a new initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment across the country.

As part of its Skills for Jobs project, NEIP plans to train over 120,000 youths from various constituencies, with the goal of creating job opportunities and enhancing employability.

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of NEIP, announced that the program would be conducted in district and municipal assemblies nationwide.

The project, a flagship initiative of the NPP government, focuses on equipping young people with lifelong skills to ensure sustainable livelihoods.

Mr. Nkansah emphasized the commitment to empowering youth and small businesses, highlighting the expansion of the vocational skills program initiated by Vice President H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia. Under the project, 5,000 women, particularly “kayayei” (female head porters), are already receiving training, with an additional 100,000 youths set to benefit.

NEIP remains dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting startups through various training and mentorship programs.
