The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has called for stronger infrastructure, access to finance, and capacity development to boost MSME growth and economic stability.
Speaking at the MSMEs Fair held on May 6, 2025, in Lagos, NECA Treasurer Richard Ayibiowu emphasized the need for innovative, inclusive approaches to MSME support. He noted that ideas from stakeholder dialogues if acted upon could stabilize Nigeria’s economy.
Adenike Adeyemi, MD of Fate Foundation, stressed the need for policy frameworks that promote infrastructure and sustained support. She urged stakeholders to treat MSME development as a long-term investment, not just a commercial venture.

ILO Country Director Vanessa Phala-Moyo also weighed in, calling on business owners to uphold human rights and eliminate child labour. She described ethical business practices as vital to sustainable development.
The fair, themed “Galvanising MSMEs for Economic Growth and Stability,” aimed to equip entrepreneurs with actionable strategies to scale and succeed.
