The Nigerian economy, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Lagos State has initiated a five-day intensive training program for 70 individuals, aimed at cultivating them into entrepreneurs and lifting them out of the labor market.
The training, themed ‘Start Your Own Business (SYOB),’ is organized by the Small Scale Enterprise (SSE) department of NDE. At the flag-off ceremony, Director General Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo emphasized the importance of equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with contemporary skills essential for starting and sustaining businesses.

Representing the Director General, Lagos State coordinator Mrs. Elizabeth Omatsola stressed the necessity for Nigerians to acquire entrepreneurial skills, noting the government’s inability to employ everyone. The SSE department, a core program department of NDE, is tasked with training individuals in business ventures.
Omatsola urged participants to seize the opportunity provided by the Federal Government through the directorate to achieve financial independence. She emphasized the importance of taking the training seriously and encouraged them to become exemplary ambassadors of the directorate.
