In a bid to tackle unemployment and promote sustainable agriculture, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has launched an ambitious training program in Yenagoa, Bayelsa. This initiative, targeting 50 unemployed youths, marks a significant step towards harnessing the potential of agriculture as a catalyst for economic empowerment and societal development.
Under the banner of the Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS), participants will undergo a comprehensive three-month program. The curriculum, meticulously designed by the NDE, blends theoretical knowledge with practical experience, offering trainees a holistic understanding of sustainable agricultural practices.
The training regimen encompasses diverse topics ranging from poultry production to horticulture, with an emphasis on the entire agricultural value chain. Through hands-on demonstrations and classroom sessions, participants will gain insights into modern farming techniques, seed selection, and market linkages, equipping them with the tools needed to thrive in the agricultural sector.
