As the #EndBadGovernance protests continued across the nation, Ogun State’s capital, Abeokuta, displayed an exceptional resilience. Despite the nationwide demonstration that began on August 1st and has caused business closures and disruptions in many states, Abeokuta’s commercial sector remained unaffected.
On the third day of the protests, Abeokuta saw a return to normalcy with businesses operating as usual. Banks, fuel stations, and other essential services resumed their activities, and transportation services were fully functional. This stands in stark contrast to other states where businesses, including banks and fuel stations, faced total shutdowns.
