Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has unveiled an ambitious strategy aimed at significantly increasing the state’s contribution to the federation account through the development of agriculture and mining sectors. Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s political program, Governor Sule emphasized the state’s commitment to diversifying its revenue sources beyond reliance on monthly allocations from the federation.

Highlighting the importance of agriculture and mining, Governor Sule outlined plans to position Nasarawa State as a key player in these sectors. He emphasized the state’s potential in agriculture, citing impressive statistics such as being the number one producer of sesame and ranking highly in rice, yam, and cassava production nationally.

Governor Sule also revealed plans to engage youths in mechanized agriculture on a large scale, aiming to enhance food production and create employment opportunities. Additionally, he discussed the significant potential of the mining sector, mentioning the establishment of a lithium processing plant in collaboration with Chinese companies.

The governor’s vision underscores Nasarawa State’s determination to harness its natural resources and economic potential to bolster its contribution to the federation account. With a focus on agriculture and mining, the state aims to chart a new path towards sustainable economic growth and development.
