The Bauchi State office of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has initiated a three-day operation to remove counterfeit Milo chocolate drinks from markets across the state.
The operation, which commenced on Tuesday, was prompted by directives from the agency’s headquarters.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, Bauchi State Coordinator, Dr. Paul Kamai, disclosed that the agency has been conducting inspections in markets and superstores to identify and confiscate the fake Milo products.

In addition, Dr. Kamai announced plans to meet with the leadership of the association of Agro chemical dealers within the week to discuss the hazards of using certain chemicals, such as Dictholoruvis and Paraquat, for food storage as the harvest season approaches.
He further urged bakers and packaged water producers to renew their operational licenses within the mandated two-year period to avoid penalties that could disrupt their businesses.
Kamai also emphasized the importance of small and medium enterprises registering their products with NAFDAC to ensure their integration into the Nigerian market.
