A clandestine operation led by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control’s (NAFDAC) Investigation & Enforcement Directorate has unearthed illegal activities, primarily the production and distribution of various alcoholic beverage brands, at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos State.

In a statement released by the agency, it was revealed that acting on credible intelligence, unauthorized production facilities were uncovered within Shop 34, Shop 17/24, and attachment 17/2 in Niger 4 Plaza.

The investigative team stumbled upon mini plastic mixing tanks, improvised filters, cartons of empty bottles bearing intact labels, corks, packaging materials, and assorted already produced and packaged drinks.
The operation resulted in the seizure and evacuation of over 3,452 cartons of empty and filled bottles, with an estimated value exceeding two hundred and fifty million naira (₦250 million).

This significant bust underscores NAFDAC’s commitment to combating illicit activities within the food and beverage industry and ensuring consumer safety across the nation.
