The Minister of Trade, Sosten Gwengwe, announced the launch of a new Grants Programme aimed at empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mozambique and Malawi.
The initiative, unveiled in Lilongwe, is part of the Southern Africa Trade and Connectivity Programme (SATCP) and seeks to foster economic growth while enhancing cross-border business ties.
The programme, which will impact 15 districts along the Nacala and Beira corridor, has allocated over K10 billion in grants.
Medium and large enterprises will access over K800 million, while micro and small businesses can secure up to K40 million through the Business Plan Competition Grants.

Managing the grants, CCM Worldwide’s Team Leader, Bronex Kathyola, emphasized the importance of transparency in the selection process, urging eligible enterprises to apply. Over 90 businesses are expected to benefit, with the financial support being awarded through a competitive selection process designed to ensure integrity and fairness.
This programme represents a significant opportunity for small businesses in both nations to grow and thrive, bolstering regional trade and economic development.
