The manufacturing sector accounts for 80% of employment opportunities in Nigeria, according to Damilola Shittu, Chairman of the Kwara and Kogi States Chapter of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). Shittu made this assertion during the 11th Kwara Trade Fair, organized by the Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) in Ilorin.
Highlighting the sector’s pivotal role in the economy, Shittu praised the manufacturing industry’s contributions to job creation, safety standards, and the production of competitive goods. “We provide over 80% of the nation’s employment opportunities.

Shittu also commended the organizers of the trade fair, which featured 88 exhibitors from diverse industries, and encouraged stakeholders to prioritize skill enhancement to maintain global competitiveness.
