Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced an ambitious plan to introduce 2,000 high-capacity buses through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model next year, aiming to enhance public transportation and foster entrepreneurial growth in the city.
This initiative, revealed during the Lagos Investment Roundtable at the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment’s pre-event for the African Social Impact Summit (ASIS), is part of Lagos’s commitment to a climate-conscious smart city.
The new buses, running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), will complement the introduction of 5,000 new taxis, created through a partnership with a car manufacturer.
This move aligns with the state’s broader goal of improving transportation infrastructure and attracting further investment.
