Lagos State Government has announced ambitious plans to equip over 100,000 residents with employable skills. This initiative, dubbed ‘Empower Lagos,’ aims to bridge the skills gap and boost economic growth.
A key component of the program is the establishment of a digital platform to connect artisans with clients, creating a marketplace for local crafts and services. Additionally, the government is set to open a Leather Hub to support artisans in the sector.

To address youth unemployment, the state will collaborate with industries to develop tailored training programs. Over 3,000 graduates will also receive employability skills training.
The program is expected to create a ripple effect, with each beneficiary training at least 10 others. This multiplier effect is projected to impact over 100,000 people within three years.
By investing in its human capital, Lagos State is positioning itself as a leader in skills development and economic growth.
