The Lagos State government has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing the business environment for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly for young entrepreneurs.
During the opening of the Lagos Tourism/Naija Brand Chick (NBC) Trade Fair in Ikeja, Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, emphasized the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to leveraging the state’s tourism and entertainment sectors to drive economic growth through private sector collaboration.
Aregbe highlighted the state’s ambitious goal of achieving N5 billion in sales over the three-day fair and praised the successful partnerships with various sponsors as a significant boost for MSMEs.
“This initiative is about expanding our economic horizons and showcasing that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture is serious about strategic alliances with key partners and brands,” Aregbe stated.

Mrs. Nelly Agbogu, the convener of the NBC Trade Fair, expressed gratitude to the Lagos State government for its support of MSMEs. She noted that despite the current economic challenges, traders at the fair were experiencing substantial sales.
Activity at the Lagos Trade Fair, held on June 17, 2024, saw customers praising the event for offering goods and services at subsidized prices.
Princess Toyin Kolade, known as Iyalaje Oodua, commended the Lagos State government for fostering a conducive business environment. Speaking to journalists, she assured traders that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains committed to addressing their challenges under his “renewed hope” agenda, despite the initial impact of economic reforms.
She conveyed optimism for a more prosperous Nigeria following these necessary adjustments.
