In a landmark event today, Lagos State celebrated the graduation of 1,200 artisans and tradesmen from 60 participating traders’ associations at the 12th graduation ceremony of the Lagos State Skill Acquisition Centres.
The ceremony, held to mark the successful completion of their vocational training, saw the graduates empowered with modern tools and equipment aimed at enhancing their businesses and boosting their productivity.
The graduates underwent an intensive eight-week training organized by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, focusing on technical and entrepreneurial skills development.
The training is part of the state’s continued efforts to improve the competitiveness of artisans and tradesmen, helping them stay ahead in an ever-evolving marketplace.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, speaking at the event, highlighted the importance of artisans and tradesmen as the backbone of Lagos’ economy.
“This initiative is designed to enhance the productivity and income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which form the core of our state’s business ecosystem. We are focused on providing modern techniques and tools to ensure these businesses thrive,” the Governor remarked.
