Lagos State has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly among youth entrepreneurs.
At the Lagos Tourism/Naija Brand Chick (NBC) Trade Fair in Ikeja, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, highlighted the Sanwo-Olu administration’s dedication to leveraging tourism and entertainment to boost the state’s economy through strategic private sector collaborations.
Aregbe announced that the state anticipates generating N5 billion in sales over the three-day event, underscoring the fair’s success due to robust partnerships with various sponsors. The event drew over 100,000 residents, actively participating in commerce to bolster the local economy.

Aregbe emphasized that the ministry’s focus extends beyond traditional cultural activities, now encompassing substantial business ventures. He highlighted the importance of strategic alliances with key brands to expand the scope and impact of the ministry’s initiatives.
NBC Trade Fair convener, Mrs. Nelly Agbogu, expressed gratitude to the Lagos State government for its support of MSMEs. She noted the significant financial success of traders at the fair, even amidst challenging economic conditions. Customers at the fair appreciated the initiative, citing the availability of goods and services at reduced prices.
Princess Toyin Kolade, Iyalaje Oodua, praised the Lagos State government for fostering a conducive business environment. In remarks to journalists, she assured traders that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to the renewed hope agenda, aiming to address current economic challenges. Despite the immediate hardships posed by federal economic policies, Princess Kolade conveyed optimism for a more prosperous Nigeria following the ongoing reforms.
