As Nigeria gears up to host the world at GITEX Nigeria 2025, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (@NITDANigeria), @KashifuInuwa, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his delight at NITDA’s bold initiative to bring the world’s largest technology exhibition to Nigeria and pledged the full support of the Lagos State Government to ensure a highly successful and memorable event.

It will be recalled that on May 30, 2024, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through NITDA, signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host GITEX for the first time on Nigerian soil.

The signing took place during GITEX Africa in Marrakesh, Morocco, between DG Kashifu Inuwa and Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, organisers of GITEX Global, GITEX Africa, and GITEX Europe.

Bringing GITEX to Nigeria is a strategic move aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at economic reform, diversification, and the advancement of innovation-driven industries. The event reflects Nigeria’s ambition to become a global tech hub and a leader in Africa’s digital economy.

GITEX Nigeria 2025 will be held across Abuja and Lagos from September 1st to 4th, showcasing Nigeria’s thriving tech ecosystem to a global audience and unlocking new opportunities for innovation, investment, and partnerships.
