The Lagos East constituency marked the festive season with the distribution of food packs to over 12,000 households across Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe, and Somolu. The initiative, announced earlier during an empowerment and cooperative launch programme, targets vulnerable groups including the elderly, widows, persons living with disabilities, women, and unemployed youths.

Since its inception, the programme has supported over 84,000 households across Lagos East, providing essential staples such as rice and garri. The distribution covers all 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), reflecting a strong commitment to social protection, inclusive welfare, and food security.

The intervention aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the local government’s #DoingGood initiative, highlighting leadership focused on responsive and people-centered governance. Beyond immediate relief, organisers said the programme also serves as a reminder of continued support for communities across Lagos East.
