The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to empowering women and promoting sustainable livelihoods by prioritizing agricultural development.
At the conclusion of a three-day training on cassava and vegetable production, processing, and marketing, Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, emphasized the state’s commitment to food security and economic growth through agriculture.
Held at the Air Force Base in Shasha Akowonjo, the training equipped participants with practical skills in modern agricultural techniques.
Dada highlighted the government’s focus on alleviating poverty among vulnerable women and youths, aligning with its T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda.

“This administration has demonstrated unprecedented support for women’s development, recognizing agriculture as a cornerstone of our economy.
This training ensures that our women are prepared to excel in this vital sector,” Dada stated.
The Commissioner urged participants to utilize their new skills to establish sustainable agricultural ventures, underscoring the state’s ongoing support for women in agriculture.
The training, lauded by NAF Base Shasha’s Air Commodore M.A. Isah, concluded with the distribution of 200 bundles of cassava stems, 200 packs of Shoko seeds, and essential farm tools.
