The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s inclusive economic growth agenda.
Finance Commissioner Hauwa Nuru made the pledge at the Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair held at the Government House banquet hall in Ilorin.
The two-day fair, backed by the state and sponsored by Wema Bank, offered entrepreneurs a platform to grow their customer base and visibility.
Nuru emphasized the role of the state’s Ease of Doing Business Council in tackling business hurdles, including financing and land access.

She highlighted infrastructure upgrades like innovation hubs and improved transport as key enablers of a thriving business climate in Kwara. “These efforts are drawing in investments and helping local businesses scale,” she said.
Entrepreneurs and shoppers praised the initiative. Exhibitor Nifemi Olaonipekun noted increased sales, while buyer Sherifat Umar applauded the fair’s affordability and support for indigenous brands.
The state government urged stakeholders to leverage such platforms to promote Kwara’s economic potential globally.
