In a strategic move to boost the agricultural value chain, 50 youth and women from the Okene/Ogori-Magongo federal constituency have completed a three-day training and empowerment program.
Sponsored by lawmaker Ozigi Muhammed Tijani and organized by the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, the event took place at Ebira Muslim Community College, Okengwe, in Okene LGA of Kogi State.
The training, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in collaboration with Kanon Royal Resources Limited, carefully selected participants from communities including Ageva, Abuga, and Ozuja.
Dr. Akinyemi Fadiyimu, provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, expressed satisfaction with the program’s success and urged participants to utilize their new skills for stable and viable livelihoods.

Ozigi Muhammed Tijani, represented by Aminu Adabenege at the closing ceremony, encouraged beneficiaries to leverage the training for business ventures that would elevate their living standards.
He also assured that more empowerment initiatives are forthcoming.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Abdul Aliu highlighted the training’s impact, noting it had opened new opportunities for legitimate income.
