Kogi State has unveiled the Ajaokuta Economic City, a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises, attracting $500 million in foreign investment, and creating 50,000 jobs.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, speaking at a stakeholders’ event in Abuja, said the FTZ will support local businesses with access to new markets, infrastructure, and skilled manpower from state universities. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the initiative.
The project is designed to empower SMEs, enhance industrial growth, and provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale operations and contribute to Kogi’s economic development.
