The Katsina State Government has procured 350,000 bags of assorted fertilizers for the 2024 cropping season. This initiative, spearheaded by Chairman Bala Musa of Daura Local Government Area, aims to support genuine farmers across the state.

Under the program, each of the 6,652 polling units spread across 34 local governments will receive 45 bags of subsidized fertilizer. The remaining stock will be allocated to other stakeholders involved in agriculture, ensuring widespread benefits to the farming community.

Chairman Bala Musa highlighted that the subsidization will significantly reduce costs for farmers, with 50kg bags of urea fertilizer priced at N25,000 instead of N39,000, and NPK fertilizer also reduced to N25,000 from N45,000 per bag.
