In a significant boost to the agricultural sector, the Katsina State government has announced a planned investment of N30 billion in irrigation farming. The initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure year-round crop cultivation.

Governor Dikko Radda made the announcement upon his return from a month-long vacation. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to advancing the state’s development and improving the lives of its citizens.

The investment will be used to establish mechanized agricultural centers in all 34 local government areas. These centers will provide training in modern farming techniques and supply necessary equipment to farmers.

Additionally, the government plans to expand irrigation capabilities to promote year-round farming.

Governor Radda’s recent visit to China focused on building partnerships and attracting investments to further develop the state’s agricultural sector. With approximately 90 percent of the population engaged in farming, these initiatives are expected to have a significant impact on local communities and the state’s economy.
