Katsina State government has reiterated its commitment to fostering a more business-friendly Northwest. Deputy Governor Faruk Jobe, speaking at the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) subnational tour for the Northwest, emphasized that the state’s goal aligns with PEBEC’s mission to eliminate barriers and streamline processes for businesses.
“Our economies in the Northwest are diverse, from agriculture to minerals and manufacturing to trade. However, realizing the full potential of these sectors requires a unified approach to the business environment,” Jobe said.

Since assuming office, Katsina has prioritized economic reforms, including creating the Katsina State Economic Council to collaborate with stakeholders across sectors, guiding policy toward shared economic goals. Additionally, the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) has been established to streamline investment efforts, boost entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable growth.
Jobe also noted the importance of technology in economic development, highlighted by the creation of the Katsina State Directorate of Information and Communications Technology (KATDICT), aimed at advancing digital skills, e-governance, and positioning the state for a knowledge-driven economy.
