Katsina State Government has announced its collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to provide crucial support to smallholder farmers, rural women, and agro-processors.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba-Faskari, shared this development during a meeting with IFAD Consultants, shedding light on the upcoming project, “Value Chain in Northern Nigeria.”
Garba-Faskari emphasized the significance of the agricultural value-chain in elevating the quality and pricing of agricultural produce. This, in turn, is expected to augment the income of rural communities, contributing to the overall economic growth of the region.
The state government has pledged its full support to the project, with Garba-Faskari expressing satisfaction that the initiative specifically targets women and youths, aligning with the administration’s prioritization of these demographic groups.
