Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has inaugurated the second phase of the women’s empowerment program, distributing a total of N260 million to the recipients.
In this latest round, 5,200 women from the state’s 44 local government areas received N50,000 each.
The initiative selects 100 women monthly from each of the 36 local government areas outside the metropolis and 200 women from the eight metropolitan areas.
Addressing the beneficiaries at the government house, Governor Yusuf stressed that the program aims to foster self-reliance and independence among women by providing financial aid for trade and skill development.

Governor Yusuf underscored his belief that women’s empowerment is a strategic investment.
He emphasized that this initiative would not only enhance the state’s GDP but also invigorate the rural economy, stimulate business activities, and instill a sense of pride among the recipients.
