The Kano State government has announced plans to disburse a N25 billion loan to support small-scale businesses, foster entrepreneurship, and create job opportunities.
Adamu Kibiya, the Commissioner for Commerce, Investment, and Industry, revealed this during an interview on Aminci Radio in Kano.
Kibiya stated that 70% of the funds would be allocated to small business enterprises, emphasizing that the initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to revive Kano’s reputation as a center of commerce and economic growth.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to promoting economic development and supporting small business owners, youths, and women in the state,” he said.
He added that the government would announce a launch date for the initiative soon and urged business owners to register with the ministry to access the loan.
“Registration will help us identify genuine business owners and ensure they receive the necessary support to expand their ventures,” Kibiya explained.
The initiative is expected to provide a significant boost to small enterprises and contribute to the state’s economic revitalization.
