Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has marked a significant stride in agricultural transformation by unveiling the state-of-the-art Hibiscus processing plant, ComttraJigawa, at the Maigatari Export Processing Zone.
Underlining the collaboration between the Jigawa State Government and Comttraex Nigeria Limited, Governor Namadi emphasized the pivotal role of public-private partnerships in fostering economic growth and development. He highlighted the venture as a crucial element in the state’s commitment to value addition and poverty alleviation within the agricultural sector.

Governor Namadi underscored the strategic importance of the processing facility, which boasts a remarkable daily cleaning capacity of six tonnes and a fumigation capacity of 48 tonnes. He heralded it as a game-changer, poised to elevate Jigawa State to a premier hub for Hibiscus aggregation, processing, and exportation, thus amplifying both local farmers’ profitability and Nigeria’s export revenue.
Furthermore, Governor Namadi reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring the integrity of Hibiscus products, emphasizing plans to enforce stringent quality standards through the revitalization of the State Consumer Protection Committee.

With a vision to empower local farmers through access to modern technology and market linkages, ComttraJigawa aims to catalyze a paradigm shift in Hibiscus production, positioning Jigawa State as a beacon of excellence in the flourishing industry.
