The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is set to train an additional 100,000 artisans in the next phase of its Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) 1 program. This follows the successful completion of the Foundation phase in 2024, which saw 29,000 artisans graduate.
ITF Director-General, Dr. Oluwatoyin Afiz Ogun, disclosed this in Abuja during a media chat, emphasizing that the program aims to strengthen Nigeria’s skilled workforce.

SUPA is structured into three phases—Foundation, SUPA I, and SUPA II—to assess, train, and certify artisans while leveraging technology.
The initiative also includes international certification opportunities and job placements, either locally or abroad. Dr. Ogun assured that ITF will maximize its institutional and infrastructural capacity to deliver on this mandate, ensuring artisans are well-equipped for the evolving job market.
