The European Digital SME Alliance has forged a strategic partnership with the Imo State Government to harness local IT talent and bolster SME operations.
This collaboration will enhance digital skills development and mentoring, aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Imo State.
According to a statement from DIGITAL SME on X (@EUdigitalsme), the initiative will focus on advancing digital solutions and skills in Imo, offering targeted mentoring programs and training.
Dr. Oliver Grun, President of DIGITAL SME, highlighted that this partnership will provide European SMEs with valuable insights into West Africa’s tech market and access to local talent, paving the way for a more inclusive digital economy.

Dr. Chimezie Amadi, Imo State Commissioner for Digital Economy, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that it will create new market opportunities for startups and innovators in the state.
The partnership will also include a freelancing program, connecting European companies with Imo’s skilled digital professionals and offering local talent opportunities for growth.
This agreement supports Imo State’s SKillUp Imo program, which has trained 20,000 youths and aligns with the state’s broader economic goals.
The initiative underscores DIGITAL SME’s commitment to global collaboration and innovation in the digital sector.
