In a recent initiative aimed at fostering agricultural innovation, fewer than 30 young entrepreneurs from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises-Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) were introduced to sustainable farming methods in Ondo State.
The exposure occurred during a study tour to Miracle Integrated Farms in Bolorunduro, Akure.
Mr. Gbenga Agbotoba, the IFAD LIFE-ND State Communication Officer, highlighted that these entrepreneurs, selected from five local government areas, were given this opportunity to gain insights into successful farming practices and explore new business environments.
The goal was to broaden their understanding of the agricultural sector’s potential and challenges, enhancing their appreciation of farming as a viable business.
Mr. Babatunde Akande, Chief Executive Director of Miracle Integrated Farms, emphasized the importance of youth involvement in agriculture.

He urged young people to view farming as a promising career, countering the outdated perception that it is merely a last resort.
Akande stressed that agribusiness is crucial for food security and long-term sustainability, even in the face of potential declines in other industries like oil.
The entrepreneurs, including individuals with disabilities, expressed gratitude for the training and pledged to leverage the knowledge gained to advance their enterprises and contribute to national food security.
