Kofoworola Treasure Oghenerukevwe is the Founder and CEO of Hottadoz Agro-Processing, a devout Christian, and a nature enthusiast. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a PGD from the National Open University of Nigeria.
With 15 years of experience in the private sector and international NGOs, she creates innovative solutions that promote farm-fresh produce, minimally processed products, and biodegradable items.
What inspired you to start your business, Hottadoz, and what does the name stand for?
Hottadoz stands for “Home Of The Trinity And Daughter Of Zion.” The name came to me while meditating on the scriptures after I joined Loveworld in 2006.
It was a revelation, I realized that I am the home of God, and that understanding forms the foundation of everything I do.
Our brand is rooted in bringing nature to everyone through minimally processed, locally sourced farm produce, making nutritious food affordable and accessible to all.
What’s your favorite farm-fresh product?
Oh, I have so many favourites! But if I had to choose, I’d say plantain is my most favourites that ripped natural, against cocoyam, sweet potato, palm oil, and corn. Each of these products has unique health benefits and is versatile in creating delicious and healthy meals.
If you had to sum up your business journey in one word, what would it be?
Godborn. This journey has been divinely orchestrated. Despite the challenges, I’ve always felt guided, and that’s why I’m here today. I know this business was birthed by God, and every step forward is by His grace.
What keeps you motivated as an SME in Nigeria?
The feedback from my loyal customers is a constant source of motivation. Many of them have shared how our products have improved their health, and that’s priceless.
Seeing the positive health impact, knowing I’m making a difference by providing clean, unadulterated food items, and the continued patronage we receive, keeps me going. It’s disheartening to see the health problems caused by adulterated and overly processed food.
My mission is to ensure Nigerians have healthier options that they can trust.
How has your experience working with NGOs shaped your approach to business?
I worked in the monitoring and evaluation department as a research assistant.
This experience taught me the importance of research, data collection, and problem-solving. I learned to tailor solutions to specific problems, test them, and see tangible results.
This research-driven approach is what led me to develop products like the HBC Supplement Mix and HBC Whole Grain Flour, which cater to people with gluten intolerance, diabetes, or those simply seeking healthier food alternatives.
What’s the easiest way for a business to become more eco-friendly?
It all starts with mindfulness. Always ask yourself, “What impact does this action have on the environment?” From sourcing raw materials to packaging and production, every decision counts. We, at Hottadoz, are committed to using sustainable practices and promoting eco-friendly alternatives wherever possible.
After such a busy day as an entrepreneur, how do you unwind?
I love to relax with calm, non-violent movies, like those from Tyler Perry. I also enjoy listening to music—it’s therapeutic for me. Being in tune with nature and surrounding myself with green spaces always helps me recharge. My passion for all things natural extends beyond food to a lifestyle that’s harmonious with nature.
You’ve made quite an impact already, but what’s next for Hottadoz?
We have big plans! We’re expanding our product line and exploring new ways to make nutritious food even more accessible. Despite several opportunities to take my business abroad, I’ve decided to stay rooted here in Nigeria.
This is where I’m meant to be, solving the problems I see around me. My mission is to be the light in this industry and create solutions that serve not just Nigerians, but people all over the world.
