The Agricultural Transformation Agenda Support Programme (ATASP-1) has allocated N2.8 billion in agro-inputs to over 14,000 farmers in Enugu and Anambra states.
Supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the National Agricultural Growth Scheme-Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP), this initiative aims to revitalize Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
During the launch in Ikem, Enugu State, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Sen. Abubakar Kyari, represented by Dr. Peter Kursh, highlighted that the inputs were offered at a 50% subsidy, with the program costing about N5 billion.
Each farmer received a package of 2 bags of fertilizer, 1 container of integrated fertilizer, 10kg of seeds, and 4 litres of agro-chemicals via an ICT platform.
