Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has provided financial empowerment to 465 hawkers, granting each N50,000. This initiative drew participants from nine clusters within the Kano metropolis and was conducted at Coronation Hall, Government House.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, detailed the event, highlighting Governor Yusuf’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly youth and women.

The governor emphasized that this empowerment initiative reflects his administration’s dedication to improving trades and skills through periodic interventions aimed at life sustenance.
Governor Yusuf also noted that his administration had previously empowered 5,200 women with N50,000 each, totaling N26 million. He stated that this initiative has already begun to yield positive results, with beneficiaries experiencing an improved socio-economic status.
“The beneficiaries are patriots who, despite facing the challenges of poverty and deprivation, have maintained honor, dignity, and respect,” said Governor Yusuf. He praised their resilience and ability to save and support their families and educational pursuits despite their modest earnings.
The governor encouraged the recipients to use the funds wisely to expand their businesses, aiming to generate a positive multiplier effect on the state’s economy.
