Mbah continued, saying that his administration will make sure farmers received the best assistance possible.

He clarified that the achievement was anticipated to be made possible by giving agriculture and agro-industrialization investment top priority and opening up the rural economy.

Mbah made this statement on Tuesday during an event hosted by the State Ministry of Agriculture to honor World Food Day in 2023. She was accompanied in this by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government.

According to Mbah, the state administration is stepping up its attempts to increase economic growth from US$4.4 billion to US$30 billion by way of significant investment.

“We would invest in agriculture by drawing in investors, giving farmers more authority, and developing the state’s rural economy,” he declared.

The governor praised the farmers for their efforts in raising a variety of food crops, which were on display during the occasion. He insisted that his administration would make sure farmers received the best assistance possible, which would contribute to the state’s economy growing.

“Farmers play a crucial role in achieving economic prosperity, self-sufficiency, and sustainability.”

“Farming is going to be crucial to our efforts to expand the state’s economy,”

“We are totally devoted to building our economy in order to get a competitive edge.

“I have to admit, this makes me feel good. We hope that by the time we get together here next year, there won’t be enough room for us to showcase our farm products because we want to provide food security,” he continued.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro Industrialization, Patrick Ubru, commented on the event’s theme, “Water is life, water is food, and leave no one behind,” stating that “World Food Day” acts as a worldwide reminder on food security.

According to him, the incident demonstrated the critical role that water plays in ensuring everyone has access to food security and nutrition. He expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering efforts to guarantee the state’s uninterrupted water supply.

He insisted that farmers in the state could boost crop yields, diversify their operations, and engage in year-round farming if they had consistent access to water. He claims that diversification will raise food output, aid in rural development, end poverty, and improve people’s quality of life.

As we commemorate World Food Day today, let’s take a moment to consider the progress we have made in ensuring access to water and how that has affected our agricultural environment.

Let’s acknowledge the revolutionary role that water plays in empowering our farmers and guaranteeing everyone has access to food.

“It is evidence that, when we put our communities’ needs first and band together, we can overcome even the biggest obstacles,” Ubru said.
