The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation says it will give away $313 billion over the next 20 years and close by 2045.
The global non-profit, co-founded by Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates in 2000, has already disbursed over $100 billion to health, education, and development causes.
Gates, 69, said he’s speeding up his giving plan to return most of his wealth to society sooner.
“I will give away virtually all my wealth through the Gates Foundation,” he stated.

CEO Mark Suzman confirmed the plan amounts to 99% of Gates’ $168 billion fortune, according to Bloomberg.
The foundation has supported smallholder farmers in Nigeria, boosted healthcare, and helped eradicate polio. Globally, its vaccine access and disease prevention efforts have saved over 80 million lives.
By 2045, the foundation currently employing 2,000+ staff aims to eliminate deadly infectious diseases, reduce poverty, and end preventable childbirth deaths.
