The late Dr. Florence Ajimobi, the widow of the late former governor of Oyo State, has emphasized the need of growing micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), arguing that they continue to be the backbone of the Nigerian economy.
At the University of Ibadan’s two-day Small and Medium Enterprises Fair 2023, Mrs. Ajimobi gave a speech as the special guest of honor.
She praised the fair’s organizers, pointing out that it would provide the many chances in the community to support the development of the students’ on-campus capabilities.

She urged entrepreneurs to organize and carry out their commercial dealings in more effective ways, which would create multiple avenues for improving the profitability of their ventures.
The outgoing first lady expressed gratitude to the University of Ibadan for its magnificent 75 years of support of national cooperation, innovation, and small- and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) growth.
She stated that she had always considered the University of Ibadan to be one of the key hubs for the country’s human and economic growth.
Therefore, according to Mrs. Ajimobi, it’s critical that all hands be on deck in order to assist in overcoming any obstacles that may come up.
Professor Oluyemisi Bamgbose (SAN), the deputy vice chancellor for research innovation and strategic partnerships, expressed happiness with the Fair’s successful completion.
