Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative has granted ₦10 million to 20 female farmers in Rivers State to enhance agricultural productivity.
This initiative aims to ensure the availability of affordable food items and mitigate the high inflation rate in the country.
At an event held at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara, presented cheques of ₦500,000 to each of the 20 women on behalf of the President’s wife.
Mrs. Fubara encouraged the women to use the funds to expand their farms, aligning with the goals of the nation’s First Lady. She acknowledged that while the amount might not cover all their needs, it represented the compassionate efforts of a caring leader.
“This is a seed investment in your agricultural businesses, backed by the founder’s prayers for your success. Make the best use of it,” said Lady Fubara.
She emphasized the responsibility of the beneficiaries to ensure that these investments lead to increased and improved harvests in the coming months.

Lady Fubara urged the recipients to be prudent with the seed money, viewing it as a call to support the agricultural revolution in Nigeria initiated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
In addition to the first batch of 20 beneficiaries, Lady Fubara announced that 80 more women would benefit from the Renewed Hope Initiative Women in Agriculture Support Programme in subsequent phases.
The Renewed Hope Initiative has also supported various other causes in Rivers State, including aiding the elderly, providing exercise books to school children, and easing the burden on families. A son of the state has even benefited from the Belarus RHI International Scholarship, showcasing the initiative’s diverse impact.
Lady Fubara also highlighted the Rivers State Government’s commitment to agriculture. Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration is reviewing agricultural policies to address sector challenges and reviving state-owned agricultural intervention schemes, such as the Songhai Integrated Farms. Private investors are encouraged to participate in this sector’s ongoing transformation.
