In a heartfelt initiative to support economically disadvantaged women, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed over 1,200 bags of 25kg rice in Anambra State. This generous act, part of the Renewed Hope Initiative, took place on Thursday at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, with oversight from Dr. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the state governor.
During the distribution event, Dr. Soludo addressed the attendees, who represented all 326 wards of Anambra. She announced that the palliatives were a component of the Federal Government’s Food Security Programme aimed at addressing hunger and food scarcity in the region.
Alongside the rice, the women received valuable health information, including checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, HIV status, and screenings for cervical and breast cancer, as well as evaluations of their body mass index.
