Representing Gen. Danjuma, Prof. Nana Tanko, Executive Director of VSF, highlighted the organization’s commitment to aiding farmers and returnees affected by insurgency since 2014, facilitating their return to their ancestral homes from displacement camps in Maiduguri.

The latest initiative focuses on supporting Borno State Agricultural Initiative, marking the final major event as VSF concludes its activities in the state.

Each farmer receives essential supplies including rice seeds, fertilizer, insecticides, herbicides, and agricultural equipment, with trained extension workers available for guidance.

Governor Babagana Zulum praised VSF’s contributions to Borno’s reconstruction efforts, particularly in addressing food shortages through timely support to irrigation farmers, crucial in the face of climate change challenges affecting rain-fed agriculture.

Established by the Federal Government, VSF has been instrumental in providing assistance to victims of insurgency across the Northeast, spanning livelihood support, peace-building, education, recovery, and construction efforts.
