In the early hours of Monday, a fire outbreak destroyed shops and properties worth millions of Naira at Moniya Garage, Ibadan.
The General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident in a statement. The agency received a distress call from Mr. Adelola at 12:27 a.m., prompting an immediate deployment of firefighters.

“On arrival, our team discovered that rows of shops and container shops were already affected,” Akinyinka stated. He added that the team, led by ACFS Oyedeji, swiftly contained the fire, preventing its spread to nearby properties.
No lives were lost, but the cause of the fire was traced to unattended electrical appliances. Akinyinka urged residents to exercise caution with fire to avoid similar incidents.
