In a significant move towards bolstering Nigeria’s digital economy, the Federal Government has introduced the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, aimed at empowering graduates with essential technical skills. The initiative, which aims to train 3 million Nigerians, has already commenced its inaugural phase, with promising outcomes for participants.

Under the program, the first cohort of 30,000 trainees has completed their training and is now venturing into various career opportunities across different sectors. The Ministry overseeing the program has been actively engaged in facilitating job placements, forging connections with over 1,400 interested employers.

The 3MTT program is strategically designed to address the pressing needs of Nigeria’s evolving economy. By focusing on areas such as software development, data analysis, and cybersecurity, the initiative not only equips individuals with in-demand skills but also contributes to the growth of the digital landscape.

With a vision to create 2 million digital job opportunities by 2025, the program operates in phased stages. While the inaugural phase targeted 30,000 individuals, the upcoming phases aim to train an additional 270,000 participants over the next 18 months, eventually reaching out to the remaining 2.7 million individuals in subsequent phases.

The program’s comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of tech skills, including software development, UI/UX design, data analysis, cybersecurity, and more. Participants benefit from free training, irrespective of their financial background, thus leveling the playing field and opening doors to lucrative career paths.

Moreover, the 3MTT program not only enhances job prospects but also increases earning potential for participants. By connecting graduates with potential employers, the initiative serves as a bridge to lucrative career opportunities, ultimately contributing to the socioeconomic empowerment of Nigerian citizens.

In essence, the launch of the 3MTT program underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering innovation, economic growth, and employment opportunities in Nigeria’s digital era. As the program gains momentum, it is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Nigeria’s workforce and economy.
