The Federal Government has pledged support for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), National Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL), and Natural Oilfield Services Limited (NOSL) to help them achieve their production goals.
The commitment was announced by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Gas, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, during a visit to OML-13, the operational base of NEPL and NOSL in Akwa Ibom State.
Ekpo highlighted the importance of this support in enhancing Nigeria’s gas production capacity. He praised the companies for their positive relationships with host communities, promoting peaceful operations, and urged them to expedite the implementation of the Host Community Development Trust Fund as required by the Petroleum Industry Act of 2022.

During the visit, NEPL-NOSL management revealed a production capacity of 60,000 barrels of oil per day and 90 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, aiming to reach full potential by the end of 2024.
They also highlighted community development initiatives, including scholarships, medical outreaches, and infrastructure projects.
The Minister’s visit aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for a “Green Nigeria” and included a team from the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and other stakeholders.
