The Federal Government has committed to sustaining its support and technical assistance to the Edo State Government in enhancing its business environment.
This pledge was made by Hussaina AbdulKadir, Senior Reform Leader at the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) Secretariat, during a two-day peer learning session in Benin City organized by the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO).
AbdulKadir emphasized the Federal Government’s dedication to strengthening Edo’s ease of doing business by leveraging peer learning and technical assistance to surpass current rankings.

The program, which engaged various government bodies and private sector players, focused on addressing infrastructure, electricity, security, and market access challenges that hinder business growth.
Kelvin Uwaibi, MD of ESIPO, highlighted the need for reliable electricity, improved security, and enhanced infrastructure.
He also noted that with a youth population of 68%, the state aims to develop a skilled workforce to boost local businesses and potentially export talent.
The session, which also reviewed the Edo State Business Environment Reforms Action Plan (BERAP) for 2025, received support from GIZ SEDIN.
