FG partners Chocolate City to boost creative SMEs, job creation

As Chocolate City marks its 20th anniversary, the entertainment giant has joined forces with the Federal Government under the Nigeria Destination 2030 initiative to transform the creative landscape.

Paul Okeugo, Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of Chocolate City Group, described the collaboration as a clear boost to FG’s creative sector reforms.

“We’re building more than performance venues, we’re building livelihoods,” he said, noting the multiplier effect on employment for artists, sound engineers, event planners, security, and hospitality staff.

The partnership aims to expand creative infrastructure across Nigeria while ensuring artists maintain ownership of their intellectual property.

Founded in 2005, Chocolate City has evolved into a creative powerhouse with interests in music, content production, artist management, publishing, and more. It has played a key role in launching stars like Femi Kuti, Ice Prince, Young Jonn, and Blaqbonez.

This alliance aligns with the FG’s goal to make Nigeria a global destination for arts, tourism, and investment by 2030.
