FG opens application portal for digital skills programme

According to the government, tech enthusiasts, aspiring business owners, entrepreneurs, job seekers, employed professionals, and imaginative future leaders are all eligible to apply for the digital skills program.

Eligible Nigerians are asked to apply for the federal government’s recently created digital skills program for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in partnership with Wema Bank.

This was said in a statement made on Monday in Abuja by Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Office of the Vice President.

The program, which is also known as the “FGN X ALAT Digital Skill Innovation Program,” is open to digital enthusiasts, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, job seekers, working professionals, and visionary future leaders, according to Mr. Adekunle-Johnson.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the federal government recently disclosed that it has finalized plans to teach two million youngsters in digital skills in collaboration with the bank.

Olusola Abiola, the Office of the Vice President’s director of information, made this statement and added that the training was in furtherance of the federal government’s commitment to support the Tinubu administration’s program for job development.

‘Wema Bank, in conjunction with the Office of the Vice President, has finalised arrangements to launch an initiative that would benefit two million youths and one million MSMEs across the country,’ he stated.
