The Presidential Livestock Reform Implementation Committee has constructed a model livestock community in Sulluɓawa, Bauchi local government, as part of efforts to transform Nigeria’s livestock subsector.
Co-chaired by Prof. Attahiru Jega, the initiative aims to reduce farmer-herder conflicts while harnessing the livestock sector’s economic potential.
Facilities in the community include a hospital for cattle, a nomadic school for herders, and a borehole to provide clean water for livestock.
