The Federal Government, through the Ogun–Osun River Basin Development Authority (O-ORBDA), has empowered 37 young graduates with N18.5 million to kickstart agribusiness ventures.
Each participant received N500,000 after completing six months of hands-on training in poultry, arable crop production, and fisheries—three key sectors identified to drive Nigeria’s food security agenda.
O-ORBDA’s Managing Director, Dr. Adedeji Ashiru, said the support goes beyond funding, describing it as an investment in sustainable agribusiness.

He urged the new entrepreneurs to form clusters, adopt eco-friendly practices, and create jobs as their businesses expand.
Since 2016, the scheme has trained and supported 208 young Nigerians, providing them with skills and capital to run viable agro-enterprises. Ashiru credited President Bola Tinubu’s continued backing for ensuring the programme’s sustainability through annual budgetary provisions.
